When Naomi Heedt couldn’t find a soap that soothed her twins’ sensitive, eczema-prone skin she began experimenting with skin care ingredients on her own — sometimes working late into the night while her babies slept. Eventually, Naomi developed a formula that proved to be hydrating, nourishing and soothing for even the most delicate skin types. But she didn’t stop there. In learning to make soap, Naomi discovered a love for the artistry of soapmaking, and she just kept making more soap with new and innovative scents. Before long, the Heedt household had more soap than they knew what to do with, so in 2018 Naomi started selling her soaps at the farmers markets with a sassy brand name, Mad Sass Soap Co.

By 2020, Naomi was ready to take Mad Sass to the next level and opened a shop in Multnomah Village. Despite challenges from the rise of COVID-19, which shut down much of the world’s production, Naomi was able to build a small team and find a safe way to keep the shop open to customers. Mad Sass body care products are beautifully handmade in small batches with natural ingredients and luxurious scents. Discover your favorites at your local Market of Choice’s Whole Health Department.
