Robin “Bobbie” Rosenberg created her one-of-a-kind boat while on a three week sailing trip. She caught a fish and needed to make a sauce that would complement it using only the ingredients she had on hand: tomato paste, onions, garlic, chili, fish sauce and lime. With the perfect balance of acidic, umami and spicy, it turned out to be a fridge cleanup that launched Bobbie into a full-fledged business.

Bobbie’s Boat Sauce is a chili sauce that transcends category description. Made with organic tomatoes, aromatics, anchovy and lime juice, it’s a little bit spicy, a little tangy and layered with depth and complexity. Enjoy Bobbie’s Boat Sauce on tacos, burritos, eggs, roasted vegetables, curries and fish. It also makes a great cooking ingredient; Bobbie suggests using it in place of tomato paste in your next recipe. From breakfast to dinner, Bobbie’s Boat Sauce is the condiment you didn’t know you were missing.

This unique sauce goes a long way to revive leftovers which helps to reduce food waste, and it’s bottled in recyclable #2 plastic to reduce impact on the planet. As a solopreneur, Bobbie has the privilege of donating to nonprofits which she does on a rotating basis. Her favorite causes are Black Futures Farms, and AYCO (African Youth and Community Organization).

Bobbie is proud of her relationship with Market of Choice. She expresses enormous gratitude for their commitment to supporting local makers and farmers, as well as their devotion to sustainability and community.
