Whitney Jayne

Whitney Jayne – Bend

For Whitney Jayne, her art is about making connections, and she likes to paint favorite Oregon vistas, “the places people go and make memories.” In rekindling shared experiences, she hopes to strengthen bonds we feel for nature, animals and each other. “You have to have connection before you care about something,” she says. Many of her bright, dreamy renditions can be discovered in our Home & Gift section on greeting cards, prints, stickers and magnets. A professional artist for a decade, she calls the Bend area home. Look for Whitney Jayne’s artwork in the Home & Gift section of your Market to give as gifts or to enjoy yourself.

Shanna Trumbly

Shanna Trumbly – Eugene

For Shanna Trumbly, nature has been a part of her work for as long as she can remember. When she was growing up, there wasn’t much money to buy art supplies, but the Eugene artist says her mother made sure there were plenty of sticks, feathers, dried flowers and the like to incorporate in her crafts. “Art has been an integral part of my being since I can remember,” she says. “Creating and making always seem to have been part of my journey.” The natural world remains a constant source of inspiration, she says. Butterflies, deer, owls and more are part of “story seeds” planted in wistful daydream scenes colored by imagination. Shanna calls them “painted fables,” weaving together flora and fauna in “an unlikely but somehow tangible, believable tale.” The bridging of daydreams to reality on canvas also builds connections on a “soul level” for viewers of her art.
