It all started with a simple habanero pepper jelly recipe from her Aunt Danny that turned out to be anything but simple for Kelly to make. Even so, the result was so tasty that Kelly Calabria and her husband, Adam, decided to make up jars of the jelly and give them to friends and family as holiday gifts. Then came requests for more of Aunt Danny’s jelly, and a few of their friends suggested they sell it. While Kelly and Adam knew they had a great product, it took a few years of daydreaming before Kelly’s Jelly business was finally established in 2010.
They began by selling Kelly’s Habanero Pepper Jelly at Lake Oswego Farmers Market. Eventually, they expanded their product line with new flavors: Strawberry-Habanero, Pineapple Jalapeno, and Strawberry Fruit Spreads. Kelly’s Jelly soon found its way to more farmers markets, then store shelves. Both Voodoo Doughnut and Ruby Jewel asked to use Kelly’s Jelly in their products. The business took off and in 2016, Kelly and Adam were the recipients of Scovie and Good Food awards for their exceptional jellies.
Kelly’s is a family-owned, woman-owned, Oregon-based specialty food producer blending tradition with modern taste to deliver premium pepper jellies and sweet fruit spreads. Their unique jellies are made with natural ingredients sourced from producers that represent the best of their local production. Kelly and Adam are grateful to businesses like Market of Choice and others who took a chance on their products. Find your favorite flavor of Kelly’s Jelly at your local Market.
