Kind Mothers Botanical

Kind Mother Botanicals – Eugene

Carrie Ellers, founder of Kind Mother Botanicals, started her business making CBD tinctures, salves and muscle balms in her kitchen. “I have always created my own medicinal salves and ointments, for over 25 years, for different ailments – from diaper rash to burn cream,” Carrie says. “One day, my friend gave me some CBD flower to experiment with and I fell in love with the process and how well CBD works for people.” The rest is history, as they say. Kind Mother Botanicals produces three kinds of full-spectrum CBD tinctures, several CBD creams and salves for the muscles, and even a CBD tincture for pets. CBD (cannabidiol) oil is the essential oil produced from the hemp plant, extracted from the leaves, buds and stem. The extract contains cannabinoids, which are antioxidant and neuroprotective. “Our salves and muscle balms contain organic cottonwood bud oil, shown to reduce inflammation and resulting pain, especially in combination with other anti-inflammatories, like CBD,” Carrie says. Added essential oils also create pleasing aromas in every Kinder Mother Botanicals product.

Oregon Soap Company

Oregon Soap Company – Portland

Life is not just about soap for Oregon Soap Company’s founder Gregg Arnell of Portland. It’s about being a responsible environmental steward and producing soap in the cleanest, most renewable way possible, and the ethos of his company reflects this stewardship. Maker of organic soaps for nearly 30 years, Oregon Soap Company uses primarily organic vegetable oils and natural ingredients, Oregon Tilth-certified, to produce its bar, liquid and castile soaps. These soaps are also Carbonfund-certified carbon neutral: For every 10 bars of soap sold or 5 gallons of liquid soap sold, a native plant or tree is planted in partnership with Friends of Trees and Trees for the Future. Since 2007, more than 750,000 native plants and trees have been planted. Carbonfund also supports third-party and verified renewable energy, including wind farms and solar power, to replace reliance on fossil fuels. Using renewable energy is another cornerstone of Oregon Soap Company’s mission.
