Tân Tân means new beginnings and that’s exactly what Vinh and Mai were seeking after the fall of Saigon in 1976. Their daughter Lisa was born in an Indonesian refugee camp, and the family eventually immigrated to Oregon in 1981 where they opened Tân Tân Café & Delicatessen in the Portland Metro area. The restaurant provided a space for the family to build a community and share the flavors of their home land. It soon became a local favorite for Vietnamese cuisine.
In 2017, the family ventured on another new beginning when they introduced their line of popular house sauces for home cooks, all of which are certified vegan and certified gluten-free. Those who love Tân Tân’s authentic Vietnamese sauces may now purchase their favorite peanut sauce, hoisin sauce, vegan fish sauce and hot chili sauce in beautifully illustrated packaging reminiscent of the family’s heritage.
